Palmetto 129

Over the years, we’ve been intrigued with building a kayak that would be the ultimate “sea horse” and would do everything you could ask of it. It would have to be compact enough to carry and load easily, tough enough to take some surf pounding and graceful enough to slip silently through quiet waters in pursuit of a trophy wildlife photo. And (geez, how much can you ask from a kayak?) have enough cargo volume to do a three-day trip comfortably, have plenty of foot room, turn on a dime and maintain easy cruising speeds. Well we slaved over this list for months and we’ve trumped all others in the fast- growing day-touring category. Do not let the compact size of the Palmetto 129 fool you one bit—this is one sea-worthy kayak that can do anything you conjure up. The Palmetto 129 offers a 42-lbs kayak for the mid- to large-size paddler. Its key feature is the amazing storage capacity in the front and rear Hurricane hatches. The watertight bulkheads speak of durability and safety. Our cockpit and deck layouts provide ample entry room, while the hull gives excellent speed along with strong tracking attributes. The Palmetto 129 will be a hard kayak to outgrow. You’ll find yourself staying out on the water longer and exploring more than you thought. The Palmetto 129 can now be ordered with a rudder for the ultimate in control.
